Just Seeds Returns!
My bedroom walls are covered with posters by artists like Josh MacPhee, Bec Young, Dylan Miner, Meredith Stern, and Icky A. They each have a distinct style, but they all have a similar, hand made, passionate feel to them that I find utterly compelling.
All of these artists and more work together in a group called Just Seeds. Just Seeds is a collective of radical artists, and they have their new website up at www.justseeds.org! Their store used to be managed by the Clamor Infoshop, but when we closed, Just Seeds closed too. Now they’re reborn, with a better site all of their own.
From the Celebrate People’s History poster series illustrating unknown and lesser known events, people, and places to Josh MacPhee’s now iconic images of John Brown or birds bursting out of prison to new works like the one featured above, the site features shirts, prints, postcards, books and other radical art-related work. It is an amazing online collection – one of the few places on the internet to view and purchase radical art. (Another is the Northland Poster Collective in Minneapolis).
Coming together as a collective to share resources and distribute art is smart, and to those who live in isolated places, a true lifeline to the important world of visual activism.
