So long, Mr. Dog.

The first dog of my adult life was Raza. When I moved to Bowling Green, Ohio to work on Clamor in 1999, Raza was living with Jason and Renee. Later, when Jason and I started dating, and eventually moved in together, we shared responsibility for him and he became the Clamor mascot, to be joined in 2004 by Tobe. Later, Raza moved to Arizona with Jason, and Tobe moved to California with me.
The Fine Art of Raising A Ruckus
I have a new article online and in the Winter 2008 print issue of Yes! Magazine – “The Fine Art of Raising a Ruckus,” where I got to write about how theater and art are integral to organizing and protest. Just today as I was making a birthday card for someone, I thought about how much I enjoy that work.

CALL FOR SUMBISSIONS: Yes Means Yes!
Co-editors Jaclyn Friedman and Jessica Valenti are seeking submissions for their anthology on rape culture, Yes Means Yes!, to be published by Seal Press in Fall 2008.
Imagine a world where women enjoy sex on their own terms and aren’t shamed for it. Imagine a world where men treat their sexual partners as collaborators, not conquests. Imagine a world where rape is rare and swiftly punished.
Welcome to the world of Yes Means Yes.
Yes Means Yes! will fly in the face of the conventional feminist wisdom that rape has nothing to do with sex. We are looking to collect sharp and insightful essays, from voices both established and new, that demonstrate how empowering female sexual pleasure is the key to dismantling rape culture.
