All Voices!
My friend Joel Schalit is involved in a new start-up website called AllVoices.com – they have an ambitious mission which includes: “The goal of Allvoices.com is to create a global community that shares news, videos, images and opinions tied to events and people that have impact. Unlike a traditional news portal, our style of presentation creates new contexts in which stories are tied together in order to provide multiple points of view,” and, “We strive to give people everywhere the tools necessary to tell their stories; to share what is going on where they are, to break news and events from ground zero; and to make it possible for people around the world to participate in events, as they unfold, thousands of miles away.”
Many of the contributors are NOT from the US – which is quite refreshing.
Anyway, Joel asked me to blog there, so I’ll be doing some posts the next couple of months on (no shock here) media and activism. You can read my first post here, on the National Lawyer’s Guild report, “Punishing Protest” – an excellent expose which confirms and expands upon what activists already know – that many different branches of the US Government target activist in the US in many complex and strategic ways.
